On-line course

We hear a lot these days about how meditation and mindfulness is a great way to overcome stress and achieve a more balanced mental state, but what exactly is mindfulness and meditation? Join us for these 2 half day courses, where Gen Osung will explain these practices from within the Modern Buddhist tradition.

What is meditation?

Meditation means to settle our mind and focus on positivity, on wisdom and compassion – holding in our mind thoughts that cause us to develop inner peace. It is a powerful way to become a happier, more fulfilled person.

The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort. However, if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions.

What is mindfulness? - August 21st

Training in mindfulness and concentration is not just watching our mind, but actively improving our mind by keeping it focused on a positive object. This practice involves three main mental factors: mindfulness, alertness and conscientiousness.

During this half day course, we will learn how to improve our concentration in meditation by using mindfulness, alertness and conscientiousness.

Improving our concentration in this way gives us the freedom to accomplish whatever we wish for.

Equalizing Self and Others

How can we equalize our love for ourself and love for others? We need to realize that all living beings wish to be happy. From this point of view we are no different from others.

Everyday Meditation

Meditation is not all about sitting. Perhaps even more important is learning to meditate through out the day by integrating meditation into all our daily activities.

The Objects of Meditation

What are the objects we concentrate on in meditation? The are many types but they can be divided into two.
