What we will study
Buddhist Insights that Change Everything
In this 5 week meditation class series, we will explore some of the fundamental beliefs in Buddhism that enable us to change our perspective and relate to things in a positive and meaningful way.
These ideas, on the nature of the mind, the process of death and rebirth, karma and samsara are the fundamental knowledge that underpins the meditation practices that transform our life.
Learning to live in accordance with these profound insights into reality transforms our life in a deeply meaningful way.

What to Expect
The classes are organised as short courses, usually around 3 or 4 weeks long and last just over an hour. You can attend the whole course or simply drop in whenever you can as each class is self-contained
You don’t need to bring anything with you and don’t need any previous experience of meditations or the class subjects. We sit on chairs for the class and meditations in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere; so all you need to do is turn up and enjoy.
We start all classes with the Liberating Prayer and a short guided breathing meditation to take ourselves away from the ordinary. You can join in or just listen to the prayer, it’s up to you.
We’ll then have some practical Buddhist teachings followed by a guided meditation based upon them; and finish with some advice on how to put the teachings into practise in daily life
If you have any questions, please get in touch via info@heartjewel.org.uk and we’ll be delighted to help

“Many people believe that when the body disintegrates at death, the continuum of the mind ceases and the mind becomes non-existent, like a candle flame going out when all the wax has burned…
Our body and mind are separate entities, and so even though the body disintegrates at death, the continuum of the mind remains unbroken. Instead of ceasing, the mind simply leaves the present body and goes to the next life.”
