Outline

Wisdom will never deceive us. It is our inner Spiritual Guide who leads us to correct paths, paths that take us beyond suffering.

In particular, through learning to develop and increase our wisdom realising emptiness, a wisdom understanding the way things exist, we can be released from suffering permanently. This wisdom is extremely profound. Its object, emptiness, is not nothingness but is the real nature of all phenomena. It directly opposes the root delusion, self grasping ignorance, that is the root of all our problems.

Come along to this half day wisdom workshop and spend a meaningful morning immersed in this profound topic.

Gen Kelsang Osung

Gen Osung is the Resident Teacher at Heart Jewel Centre.

She has been studying under the guidance of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for 25 years and ordained for 15 years. As a mother and a modern Buddhist nun, she is loved for her joyful and inspiring presentation of Buddhas teachings, clearly close to her heart.

“Self-grasping ignorance is sometimes called a ‘seed’ and sometimes a ‘root’. It is called a ‘seed’ because all sufferings arise from it as crops grow from seeds, and it is called a ‘root’ because all our fears, frustrations, and sufferings grow from it as fruits and flowers grow from the root of a tree. We cannot abandon self-grasping ignorance unless we meditate on emptiness.. It is only a direct realisation of emptiness that actually frees us from samsara.”
