The Course
What we will study
Advice from Atisha’s Heart is sublime, heartfelt advice to live by. Eternally modern and relevant, it is packed with practical guidance that helps us transform our ordinary life into a joyful path to deep inner peace for our own and others’ benefit. It is the very heart of Kadampa Buddhism.
The founder of Kadampa Buddhism, the renowned Indian Buddhist Master Atisha gave these instructions as his final advice – essential personal advice for living a meaningful and purposeful life.
By keeping Atisha’s Advice in our heart we can maintain a peaceful, happy mind, our human nature and good qualities will improve, we will show a good example in this troubled world and we will quickly attain great enlightenment.
This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to find a meaningful and beneficial way to live their life.

What to Expect
The classes are organised as short courses, usually around 3 or 4 weeks long and last just over an hour. You can attend the whole course or simply drop in whenever you can as each class is self-contained
You don’t need to bring anything with you and don’t need any previous experience of meditations or the class subjects. We sit on chairs for the class and meditations in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere; so all you need to do is turn up and enjoy.
We start all classes with the Liberating Prayer and a short guided breathing meditation to take ourselves away from the ordinary. You can join in or just listen to the prayer, it’s up to you.
We’ll then have some practical Buddhist teachings followed by a guided meditation based upon them; and finish with some advice on how to put the teachings into practise in daily life
If you have any questions, please get in touch via info@heartjewel.org.uk and we’ll be delighted to help
“Simply putting this Advice into practice we will naturally become a Bodhisattva, a holy compassionate being who is the object of everybody’s love and respect.”
