Mindfulness and Meditation Classes

About the classes

The classes explain how we can practice Buddhist meditation and teachings. They combine guided meditation with practical spiritual advice that you can apply immediately to your daily life to solve problems and find a deeper happiness.

Everyone is welcome. The classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators. You do not need to be a Buddhist to attend the classes, or to benefit from the techniques taught. At our outreach classes we sit on chairs to ensure everyone is comfortable, but at the Centre we also have the option of sitting on cushions on the floor.

The classes are organized as short courses, usually 5 to 8 weeks long. They are easy to follow and do not need prior knowledge or experience.

Class format

The teacher will explain how to meditate and will give practical guidance during the class. He or she will give a talk based on Buddha’s teachings that will explain how to put meditation into practice in daily life to increase our own and others happiness. There will be a chance to ask questions after the class and talk with the teacher, with light refreshments.

The general structure of the class

  • Simple guided breathing / relaxation meditation
  • Practical teaching on meditation and positive thinking (approx. 30 mins)
  • Another meditation, discussion and questions & answers
  • Light refreshments.

Attending the class

The classes are organised as short courses, usually 5-8 weeks long. You can attend the whole course or simply drop in whenever you can as each class is self-contained.
